Traction Control Button Indicator Light

2015 Tiguan DSG 4 Motion.

If I turn off the traction control by pressing the traction control button on the small panel just forward of the gear selector knob I get an indication on the dashboard that traction control is disabled but the traction control button itself doesn't illuminate orange the same as the other buttons on that panel (for example Park Assist, Parallel Park and Stop/Start).

So does the traction control button have an indicator light to show that the traction control is disabled?

Hold it down for 5 seconds and see what happens.
No difference to just pressing it normally, the traction control is disabled with a warning message in the centre of the dashboard and an orange skidding car indication in the tacho. What else is supposed to happen after 5 seconds?

The actual traction control button itself still doesn't illuminate.

No the button does not change colors. No need to as the dash indicates it. The PDC and Park Pilot buttons change as well as the off road button as it's the only indicator of it's status. Unless HDC is active when off road is on then s green icon lights in the tach.

And FYI even with ASR/ESP is off it's not totally off. In the event of total vehicle control loss it's still on just enough to assist. Only way to totally defeat it is if you have a DSG and the proper coding is out in. Then hold the button for 10 seconds, a chime sounds and a Traction / Stability control is Deactivated. Use caution. Not recommended doing this mod for a street car.
Thanks, that answers my initial question, I thought that there might be an indication light failed on the button but since you've just confirmed that it doesn't change colour then I don't have a faulty button.
