Rear Differential Leak

When I was rotating the tyres today I noticed that there was some fluid buildup on the RHS of the rear diff. This is a bit unexpected after two weeks of ownership. I am guessing the car was well steam cleaned underneath for import compliance, it is not quite so pristine now! Seems to have some weeping from the sump or somewhere up front too Still that is used cars i guess.

Anyway, regarding this leak, i have sent a pic to the dealer and it should be addressed under the 30 day warranty, if push comes to shove, and I end up having to sort this myself, has anyone here replaced the seals on theirs? In the manual looks like there is a flange cover that has to be pulled out of the diff to exposed the seal, they quote a special tool but just looks like a flat bar that you bolt on to the cover and tap on the ends of the bar away from the diff to pop it out and expose the seal...

And if one goes I am guessing the other side is soon to follow....

Well, the issue seems to have resolved itself. The dealers mechanic inspected the car and the diff oil is full, and there has been no further leakage. So will just have to monitor it and see how she goes...

Yeah, lucky me ;-) I cleaned it up and took it a short drive after posting. Spent some time puttering along in off road mode on some back roads, to give the rear end bit of a work out. Came back and no further leakage. Drove to work and back today and still nothing. I need to get some suitable fluid and top it up, but have to wait for dealer to respond before I touch anything otherwise I can invalidate their responsibility to remedy....

Working through the manual, there is reasonable amount of work involved to actually get the axles out, and a number of non reusable parts.
