Being asked to pay for winter pack on r line

I ordered a new 184 r line and specced the winter pack for the heated seats. VW decided to change the standard seats for leather which come heated anyway. I've spoken to my salesman who has confirmed that vw are still charging me for the winter pack even though i wouldn't have specced it if leather had been free at the time. Obviously not happy about the situation!!

When we ordered ours with leather the winter pack was an additional option and we didnt bother as it was close to ÂŁ300 for what was essentially heated windscreen washer jets.

That's exactly my argument. I wouldn't have specced winter pack if a)I'd ordered leather or b)if had been standard in the first place.

I have had the same with BMW, they added auto lights and wipers as standard spec along with DAB. Auto lights/wipers was an ÂŁ80 option, but still had to pay the ÂŁ80 for the option as that was what was agreed at point of sale.

The R-Line has gone up in price slightly with the higher spec, so they will say you are still effectively getting the winter pack for free due to the price rise and now have leather FOC.

Usual wonderful car industry - always putting the customer first...

Apparently the leather should cost 450 quid to the customer. That's the cost price.

McMaddy speak to VW Customer Service bud..! depending on if there is additional equipment that is none standard they may reimburse you for the winter pack but I'm sure you get heated washer jets? And I believe that if that's the case you'd be out of pocket to complain because your Tiguan (if it did?) came with the leather it is now the car is ÂŁ400ish more expensive now than when you ordered it so you could end up owing them the difference, so I'd be pleased with the fact you got leather and heated washer jets for ÂŁ300 win win in my eyes mate..

That's what the wife said but it's a bit expensive for heated washer jets though haha. The price is fixed from before the price increase so can't complain too much it's just the thought of paying for something that's not really needed.

Don't shoot me down in flames, but I agree with your wife. When I decided to change vehicles a couple of months ago I had an agreed PX price and deal for the new car. Now, with the emissions outcry, if VW owners get compensation, then I'll miss out, but on the other hand if values go down I'll gain. At the end of the day I'm happy with my deal and I'm getting what I want at an agreed price.
