Hello all!

I'm from Romania, Europe, I have a VW Tiguan 2012 facelift 2.0TDI 110HP and I'm intending to retrofit OEM Xenon headlight. I have halogens now. I found out there are headlight with different part no and visually I can't find any difference.

The headlights that I found for Tiguan 2011-2015 are:

  • 5N1 941 751, 5N1 941 752
  • 5N1 941 033, 5N1 941 034
  • 5N1 941 753, 5N1 941 754
  • 5N0 941 751, 5N0 941 752

What are the differences between them?

All are bi-xenon with D3S bulbs and the same turn bulb.

Can I pair for example a headlight 5N1 941 751 with a headlight 5N1 941 754?

Thank you in advance for any answer!

Regards, Florin

Hi Florin,

This topic has been covered a few times, and on each occasion a warning has been given. If you are going to retrofit Xenon lights, then please install the complete system, this includes the automaic leveling system. If you don't fit the complete system properly, then you are going to blind all oncomeing motorists.

Hello Johnny!

Of course this is a retrofit with auto leveling sensor, cables, AFS module, changing the BCM and OEM headlights. I have also the washing system installed on my car.

But to make confusion great VW makes 4 different part no for headlights to the same Tiguan made from 2011 to 2015 and uses also 3 type of AFS cornering module.

So, if you have some helping answers to my questions please do so.

I attach the pics of all 4 part no of the xenon headlight.

You have 2 type of Xenon, the ones with basic Shutter that are FLA capable and the ones with "Crazy" Shutter that make DLA.

The DLA requires you to have the front camera:

http://en.volkswagen.com/en/innovation-and-technology/technical-glossary/dynamic_light_assist.html

If you don't have or don't plan to retrofit the camera forget the ones with DLA .

Also you have the NAR (North America Region) that has a "special" indicator that is usually ON.

Check ETKA and try to find out the PR code for each type to understand what changes

  • 5N1 941 751, 5N1 941 752 ROW/Static Curve
  • 5N1 941 033, 5N1 941 034 Dynamic Curve
  • 5N1 941 753, 5N1 941 754 it's the evolution of 5N1 941 751, 5N1 941 752 but same thing
  • 5N0 941 751, 5N0 941 752 NAR/Static Curve

You have more, you also have the RHD and this 5N1 941 753, 5N1 941 754 was replaced by 5N1 941 753 B, 5N1 941 754 B

Also these ones 5N1 941 033, 5N1 941 034 were replaced by 5N1 941 043, 5N1 941 044 and replaced by 5N1 941 043 B, 5N1 941 044 B

etc...

Have fun :)

Thank you n4s.

One more question if you know the answer: If I pair one 5N1 941 754 with one 5N1 941 751 I will not get any problem? I saw that it uses the same type of bulbs. The pic is attached

The NAR doesn't have an additional special indicator that is always on. It does have daytime running lights, which uses the LED array around the projector.

What the NAR lights may have is a different projector for NAR lighting requirements, as the lens is dimpled to scatter to soften the cutoff and send some light up. the ROW lights may have a clear lens instead.

Also, Static Curve lights means the H7 light next to the projector lights up the corner at speeds lower than 40 kph.

Dynamic Curve means in addition to Static Curve lights, the projectors to swivel to around 15° to further illuminate the corner. And the NAR version has this.

but the idea is not to further iluminate corner, it's to "cover" incoming traffic.

These ones 5N1 941 033, 5N1 941 034 (5N1 941 043, 5N1 941 044) ( 5N1 941 043 B, 5N1 941 044 B) do this
That's dynamic light assist.

Dynamic curve is different from dla

The dynamic cornering lights video just doesn't do it justice! Having the lights point around the corners ahead of you, particularly in winding lanes is just brilliant.

Got this on my EOS and I couldn't agree more, absolutely brilliant (no pun intended.)

Hi,
Thanks for the detailed information to all!

I have only doubts about "B" letter:
You have more, you also have the RHD and this 5N1 941 753, 5N1 941 754 was replaced by 5N1 941 753 B, 5N1 941 754 B
I've bought a car with 5N0 941 752 B headlight in USA, i.e. with LHD (Left Hand Drive).
Someone say that "B" letter appeared after 2104 for *752/751 headlights and 754 are related to OEM version.
But cannot find a proof :)
