Can anyone explain why VW specify a wheel bolt torque of 103 ftlb for FWD Tiguans and a lower figure - 88 ftlb - for 4-Motion versions?

Like any garage is going to change the settings of their air guns dependent on whats written in the manual

But I don't know why the 4motion has a lower torque setting.

Agreed, but I am talking about the VW dealer, where you have little or no choice.

I'd have to agree with the torque wrench, my dealer definitely uses them and won't allow a rattle gun anywhere near anybody's wheels, VW, Audi, Porsche etc etc. As with everybody else I've no idea why the differences between FWD and 4motion though unless there's some different components in the hubs for some reason ??
