I know most of you will think I'm barking mad but me and SWMBO have traded out of our 2020 white Rline Tech to a 2020 Tungsten silver Rline Tech with full leather and electric tow bar. It's a couple of months older and slightly less mileage and was a VW demonstrator, I must say it took 5 hours of detailing to get it nice and shiny, I think a blind one armed man could have done a better job than the dealers cleaners.

Looks good.

Was this just to get the leather and tow bar and was the cost (I guess there must have been one) worth it?

Mind you, to offset that at least you got to have a detailing session which is never bad. ;-)

The cost was 2k. as this ones just 2wd and the old one was 4x4 and as SWMBO is never likely to go of road and my A5 is a Quattro I thought it wasn't a bad deal. As you say John nothing beats a good detailing session with my EZ merch. lol

Lower weight and better fuel consumption, I assume, but does not the 4x4 have better road holding in wet/icy conditions?

Like your detailing cart and it's now on my list.

Apologies OD - you are correct of course. Silly of me to think for a moment that Mick was fully committed to just cleaning his new motor - I'm sure a shot of silicone makes the scotch go down faster.

Update

Me and SWMBO have decided to bail out of the diesel Tig. I know I’ve only had this one for three/four months but just fed up with the gutless diesels, so as I’ve just made a small profit on my Rline Tech I’ve gone and bought a pocket rocket. Yes we’re the proud owners of a used 2021 300 brake T-Roc R for not far off what I paid for my Tig. If I could have got a similar sort of Petrol Tig I would still have bought the Roc as I think We need a change from the barge. Also just changed my job to maintenance technician at a very local care home for the elderly, it means less hours and much less travelling inc a lot less exertion for a nearly 70 year old git, so no more what’s in the workshop now I’m afraid. I will still be popping in to keep my eye on you lot so behave.

Well Mick, when you have news you don't mess around, eh! Congrats on your T-Roc R mate. A new job to go along with your new ride too. Will certainly miss "What's in the Workshop Now". You can always start "What's in the Driveway Now". 😉

All the best going forward mate as you start your new career. We too will be keeping an eye open for you. 🧐

Cheers mate,

Garry

I'll second that. Pls keep us up to date on the Roc - presumably a tad slower than the Golf R but with more headroom? I could be sorely tempted in the same direction when we no longer have to tow trailer loads of manure and firewood.
