Since long time I would like to have PLA 2.0, not that I use it that much but wanted to see 360º sensors in RNS.

I was lucky enough to buy a my2010 that already has BCM and White and Black Cluster (now 3D) but the ABS is my bottle neck.

To have PLA2.0 it's necessary to have ABS 5N0 614 109 and I have 5N0 614 517. The "new" ABS is already waiting in the floor of the garage but the "old" parking brake unit is not compatible with "new" ABS.

So yesterday I changed the parking brake unit, some pictures:

parking1.jpg

Parking2.jpg

Before:

Address 53: Parking Brake Labels: 5N0-907-801.clb
Part No SW: 5N0 907 801 E HW: 5N0 907 801 E
Component: J540 EPB3 VW-13948 0008
Revision: H10 Serial number: 00000000015470
Coding: 0000057

After

Address 53: Parking Brake Labels: 3AA-907-801.clb
Part No SW: 3AA 907 801 H HW: 3AA 907 801 H
Component: J540 EPB4 VW-86594 0010
Revision: H19 Serial number: 00000000866739
Coding: 0023057

Some minor issues during the process.

- The abs changed for a strange coding and was not accepting the coding. This happened because the buttons with ESP, off-road, tire pressure and parking was not connected. After reconnecting the button everything ok

- The parking brake was not accepting basic setting, basic setting doesn't run if parking brake is armed

- Modules were saying that they were not compatible, had to run all the G85, G200 and other basic setting and hope it would disappear (and it did)

So now I have an upgrade that didn't changed anything

Moved your post here n4s as I think this is a much better forum for your latest mod. Best of luck with your ABS replacement, which I have no doubt you will succeed with. :)

Cheers!

I helped with an abs changeout on a friends passat, you can actually bleed the abs pump using the pump under output settings, makes a heck of a racket, but it bled it enough to do the brakes the old fashioned way..Word of experience, dont have the ebrake set..lol his was manual, but we were like why isn't the rear brakes bleeding?!? then it hit us.. good time to do a full flush anyway.. One thing I have always let the dealer do till a friend got the pressure bleeder and found the abs pump had a bleed function. I try and do it 2 year/ 20k miles.. I let my Golf go 35k and its was a nasty mess..

Bookmarked for future reference for me, should I need it..

Thanks. I'm quite afraid of next step, abs replacement. Coding for abs units is like playing lottery
I give you some codings for ABS

Encoding depends on the type of engine and transmission, as well as additional options.
We calculate the encoding of a new ABS yourself. 100% applicable to software 0011-0022. Sowtware 0001 and 0002 are different. Other software I don't have unfortunately yet.

Sum up the desired number

options:
32768 - start-stop (7L6)
16384 - start-stop or coasting?
4096 - indirect tire pressure monitoring
2048 - right wheel
512 - Off Road
256 - rear ABS sensors gray for PLA2

engine and transmission combination:
1029 - 1.4tsi 75 - 100kW front-wheel drive manual transmission
1032 - 1.4tsi 75 - 100kW front-wheel drive manual transmission (China)
1035 - 1.4tsi 101 - 130kW front-wheel drive manual transmission
1038 - 1.4tsi 101 - 130kW manual transmission 4Motion
1041 - 1.8tsi 105 - 130kW front-wheel drive manual transmission (China)
1044 - 1.8tsi 105 - 130kW front-wheel drive automatic (China)
1047 - 1.8tsi 105 - 130kW automatic transmission 4Motion (China)
1050 - 2.0tsi 125 - 160kW automatic transmission 4Motion (China)
1053 - 1.4tsi 101 - 130kW DSG front-wheel drive (NAR)
1056 - 2.0tsi 125 - 160kW DSG 4Motion (CCZD motor 132kW)
1059 - 2.0tsi 125 - 160kW front-wheel drive manual transmission (NAR)
1062 - 2.0tsi 125 - 160kW front-wheel drive automatic (NAR)
1065 - 2.0tsi 125 - 160kW automatic transmission 4Motion (NAR)
1068 - 2.0tsi 125 - 160kW manual transmission 4Motion
1071 - 2.0tsi 125 - 160kW DSG 4Motion
1074 - 2.0tsi 125 - 160kW automatic transmission 4Motion
1077 - 2.0tsi 125 - 160kW front-wheel drive manual transmission (NAR)
1080 - 2.0tdi 70 - 90kW front-wheel drive manual transmission
1083 - 2.0tdi 91 - 110kW front-wheel drive manual transmission
1086 - 2.0tdi 91 - 110kW manual transmission 4Motion
1089 - 2.0tdi 91 - 110kW DSG 4Motion
1092 - 2.0tdi 91 - 110kW automatic transmission 4Motion
1095 - 2.0tdi 111 - 130kW DSG 4Motion
1098 - 2.0tdi 111 - 130kW manual transmission 4Motion
1101 - 1.4tsi 101 - 130kW DSG front-wheel drive

For example I have a 2.0 diesel with automatic transmission with 4x4 off road, indirect tire pressure monitoring and PLA2:
4096 + 512 + 256 + 1092 = 5956, coding is 0005956.

I had some confusion when I did this...
couldn't find my car...
I have 2.0 TSI DSG 147KW 4motion so that was not in the list.
I had to experiment with it and I found that 1071 (155kW maybe same motor) was my car...

2.0 DSG 4 Motion, off road, indirect tire pressure monitoring and PLA2:
4096 + 512 + 256 + 1071 = 5935, coding is 0005935.

WOW, drsedoy joined the forum, such an honor!

Most of the mods I did I copied from you, you can see that me and ONOFF use your work as an inspiration since long time:

Yes im very happy he came to this forum...

this coding is for CCZB with DSG but supported power range for 2.0tsi engine is 125-160kW
every coding has power range

I made changes to previous post, add power range

This is a very interesting thread. If drsedoy is still reading this forum, I would have a few questions.

My car is a December 2010 registered Tig 2.0TSI Sport&Style (or what ever, non M1G) CCZ 147kw DQ500 4Motion. No Start/Stop, No offroad, with autohold button, with TPMS set button.

ABS unit data:

Control Module Part Number: 5N0 614 109 Q HW: 5N0 614 109 Q
Component and/or Version: J104 C4 450 V2AD 0006
Software Coding: 0010564

So the coding is 00101001 01000100

Two highest s&s bits makes sense as I do not have it.

&8192 is not documented in this thread. I have it on. I experimented and turned it off. The result is wrong coding DTC and also "01299 - Diagnostic Interface for Data Bus (J533)". Does this bit switch between TP20 and UDS in some extent? I have gathered a few codings from facelifted cars and they have this bit as 0. Can I replace my old unit with a newer one and make it work by switching this bit? Should the can gw be replaced with newer one too?

&4096 should be indirect TPMS which I do have and it works but still this bit is set 0. Why?

&2048 what is this actually? "Right wheel"? Did not notice any difference by turning this off. It's originally on in my car.

&1024 This is interesting. All the listed engine codings have this bit on, but my car has it off. What is this actually? If I turn it on I have incorrect coding DTC.

&512 Off road bit off as it should

&256 Rear sensor option bit on.

I guess low 8 bits are for the drive train configuration. My car's low byte coding is 68dec which would lead to "1092 - 2.0tdi 91 - 110kW automatic transmission 4Motion" except that I have the &1024 bit set to 0 and the car is something quite different. I suspect there are more drive train listings that apply in some cases and I guess i do not have sw 0011-0022. 0006 maybe?

I'm grateful for any input.

Your abs is trw450 (c4).
The infos provided are for trw450m (c6).
Not same unit, not same codings.
