Hi.

I have a 2009 tiguan r with the orange check oil level light on, oil level was topped up and still shows, replace the oil level sensor in the sump but still on. Checked values with VCDS, low oil level warning is 55mm, current level is at 77.5mm, reading changes when draining the oil with old and new sensor. No fault codes to clean. Any help would be appreciated.

Audi low oil warning

Some 2009-2011 Audi models may display a low oil warning, but the problem may be due to a faulty hood contact switch. This applies to 2009-2011 A4, S4 and Q5 models, 2008-2011 A5, S5 Coupe models and 2010-2011 A5 and S5 cabriolet models.

I know this is Audi, but wondered if it applies to VW as well, although not come across it before myslef. Basically the bonnet needs to be opened for the message to reset. To know its been opened it uses a switch on the bonnet latch, which over time fail causing the message to be on permanently.
