So I recently changed the oil on the Tiguan and found this flywheel inspection port open to the elements. I'm assuming that in normal use it wouldn't be a problem, but as I do some light 4WDing and tend to go through water, etc. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a dust cover and what the part number might be? I've tried my local service centre but they weren't too helpful. Thanks!

Thanks for you reply. Yes, I just bought it second hand and am really loving it. I was concerned that as I'm doing creek crossings water may get in.

So has it got the plastic pan in place under there or not ? I suspect regardless, any bit of water that goes in there will come out just as easily.

Hey there. Yes it's got the plastic pan in place, I just don't see anywhere that water could drain out.

Almost 13 years for our Tiguan including many gravel roads and no issues with that port. Weird design for sure.
