I guys I've been having problems for a while, finally got her plugged in showing code p0088 fuel|rail pressure too high? Anyone experienced this in the past and knows the solution?

Handheld generic scanner codes do little to get to the source. Need to see what the secondary DTCs are by using a more in-depth scanner like vcds or obd11. High pressure could be the result of a handful of issues including a faulty sensor.

It only happens whilst driving really bud. I'm taking it down to garage tommorow for them to have a look to see what it is!

I used a plug in obd2 I think it was.

Yep those cant dive deep enough into vws sophisticated systems it could be something totally unrelated causing that code and the generic scanner just sees the end code. It is possible the Pressure regulator has gone bad but ive rarely seen them go bad even running a higher volume in tank pump. Keep us up to date with the issue.

Took it down they checked thoroughly, removed and replaced fuel pressure regulator and seems to be fine. Cars got it's full power back and fuel consumption seems better too. £140 all in
