Hi All,

Thought I would share my experience of checking the oil level - so popped the bonnet on my 2.0 TDI SE Tiguan for the first time today. I'm really pleased with the car overall - general solid feel and quiet engine.

Surprised when I opened the bonnet that it does not have an hydraulic arm (my Golf and Polo both had them) - back to an old-fashioned bonnet support strut. I found this a bit fiddly to get in the supporting socket. The bonnet is quite heavy, so you have to support it while you fiddle. Didnt need to top up the oil, but noticed that the oil filler cap is located quite far back - so this might be a bit tricky. However, since the general level of the engine is higher (than say a Golf) it shouldnt be too bad.

Oh well - that's my thoughts - anybody else with any comments?

cheers

simhar
