Hi,

This is my first post and I haven't introduced myself or anything yet, but I love driving the car and want to become involved here.

My Tiguan is 2012 Pacific 2.0 4motion and has about 140.000 km, with a reconditioned engine that has allegedly done only 70.000 km, changed by a VW dealer about a year ago. (The original engine was using about 1L of oil per day, had something to do with the inside of the pistons. Since then no oil issues only some weeps during servicing noted, that's just some of the history/background.

Since I got my car back from servicing on Friday, straight away the airbag light came on about an hour or so later, and my fiancee heard a noise coming from the steering wheel, sounding like you're flipping through a few pages of a book really fast. They will look at the car again in 2 days, now, 4 days after the service, all the controls in the steering wheel have also stopped working. Googled some stuff, some clockspring thing maybe? My car knowledge is very limited. Any advice whatsoever is welcome.

My other thing I wanted an answer on is this, the service dealership (not a specialised VW garage) found a problem and I would like to know how important and urgent it is to fix, quoted 1500 AUD:

A fuel leak from the hight pressure fuel pump sensor - can't be replaced separately so need to buy the whole fuel injection pump.

That's mostly it, thanks for any help someone could provide, really appreciate it.

Bonus question: Got a dashcam for Christmas, can't get it working, I wonder if the cam is broken as I had a VW dealer check all the fuses for 12V and they all seem to work, the camera seems to record most of the time but doesn't actually come on so I can connect to it and download. (Ignore if this is not enough Tig related)

Camera sounds faulty, replace it.

Depends how bad the fuel leak is. Is it noticeable?

Clock spring does sound like it has gone, unfortunately its probably a coincidence after the service.

Thanks for the insights, I didn't notice the fuel leaks ever, just got mentioned at this service, not at the last one. Will ask tomorrow on clarification on how bad it is and how urgent. Have to do this, especially since the clockspring replacement will also not be free..
