Evening gents after 2 days of detailing the Tiguan I have noticed 2 bits of rust starting on doors has anyone else had this problem and have the been successful dealing with vw for the 10 year corridor etc

After reading this, I went out at 10pm with a torch and am happy to say not a speck of rust/bubbling on the visible parts of all 5 doors - and these are subject to much mud, rain and cow sh*t from neighbouring farms. Do they still salt the roads in the UK as that used to be one of the main causes?

Yes they do and I’m not happy need to get it checked at vw ASAP

I would say that road salting has ceased to be an issue with bodywork as the treatment cars get eliminates the issue. Only yesterday I was following a car and realised it was 8 years older than mine and looked Immaculate. (and mines 5 years old and bodywork is perfect)

 

K3vmcb, you don't state the age of your Tiguan, nor whether the rust is localised or in different places, and whether its surface or penetrating from below. VW have a 10 (?) year guarantee against rusting so if you're within that I'd suggest you invoke this warranty.
