Another quick update, once I had converted all my interior lights to nice white LED's and my rear numberplate lamps come from factory with a nice crisp white, my puddle lamps suddenly looked very orange and old fashioned. So bought a couple more Canbus 501's and stuck these in, it hasn't gone dark yet so can't confirm how well they work as puddle lights but will give the light look at least.

On another note I also realised I was looking at the wrong pins for the off road function so this job is back on and I managed to install the required wires into my BCM this weekend, just need to get some more terminals and do the same to the button collection and we should be up and running!

Another update this evening this is 1 that I am quite proud of because about 3 or 4 times I didn't think this 1 was actually going to come off but finally I have got the retrofitted OFF ROAD button and functions working!

As there was nothing of any real interest going on today in the UK 19th May 2018 at 12:00pm and I have seen weddings before I decided to use this time to accomplish something I have been trying to find time to get sorted for months.

Since fitting side skirts to my Tiguan I realised the standard jack would no longer be able to lift the my car in the event of a puncture. After a bit of eBay searching I decided a jack from a Nissan X-Trail 2000 - 2007 shape would work perfectly so found an ebay listing with all the tools and polystyrene surround delivered for just £20 - bargain.

When it arrived I offered it up to the sill and realised it would work, but would need to centre notch widening so a bit of grinding later and I had a perfect Tiguan side skirt jack.

gallery_105394_1658_722010.jpg

So now that my jack was ready it was time to work out where to put the jack as it has just been floating around in the boot for the last couple of months. So I decided to merge my original under floor polystyrene and the Nissan polystyrene to give me somewhere nice and tidy to put the new tools but keep the under floor looking as OEM as possible (please note, no VW polystyrene was damage in the process)

Original VW under floor polystyrene I had to work with:

Nissan polystyrene I had to work with:

gallery_105394_1658_401531.jpg

Then after a little bit of semi careful measuring and cutting I was left with something like this:

gallery_105394_1658_28576.jpg

Tools installed and everything back in the boot nice and tidy, very happy! Its a cheap and efficient way to lift your car with skirts on and keep all the tools required tucked away without loosing any space I was using before

Boot floor back down with no side effects it all sits below the required level:

For anyone who is interested this is how much extra clearance you get with the Nissan Jack:

Very minor update today, installed a A400H wiper as per ONOFF's topic here http://www.mytiguan....er-in-the-rear/

As mentioned by him the wiper does very very close to the bodywork now, but it clears a much bigger areas on the rear screen! Maybe just worth checking when winter comes before setting off that there isn't a big lump of ice on the end of the wiper blade which could cause it to hit the painted tailgate!

Size comparison:

New blade installed:

Clears right to the top of the screen and just missed the bodywork:

Another day another mod, this mod was both the simplest and most difficult mod I have done. Mirror fold in half a second, thanks for the help n4s and ONOFF.

I already had my mirros folding due to a VCDS mod months ago, however I have always wanted them to fold is quicker so I didnt need to hold the lock button for 2 seconds every time I locked the car.

Like I say this is as simple as changing 3 sets of numbers from 14 to 05 mods don't get simpler than that, however having the equipment and getting everything working so you are in a position to do that is where it gets difficult and well beyond my knowledge so I let the forum geniuses work out the process for me

Quick video, mirros fold in with a single press, windows would go up too if they were down. 0.5 is perfect for me to lock the car but also not have the windows come down when unlocking the car!

Thanks wouldn't have been possible with out your guide, appreciated as always.

Yeah as per the video as long as unlock is pressed quickly the windows don't move. I haven't put them down by accident... yet.

Out of interest is it possible to make the windows go up via the key lock but NOT go down via let unlock?

Couple of cheeky eeprom changes tonight thanks to advice and help from n4s yet again

First was to enable twin rear brake lights like the newer platform vehicles

Then next was to makes the inner tailgate lights dim to off when the tailgate is lifted

Nice thread this man! I’m looking to do subtle mods to our tig after buying it last week. Doesn’t seem much on places like eBay etc compared to what I used to find for the Golf MK5 GTi I had
